old french guitar of the selmer type ,by castellucia ,and made in the 50's .has a new fretboard,machineheads and bridge.a sweet sounding instrument that is coming back to life again.extremely fine grained spruce top, a rare model, strung up with savarez 010 but i put an 011 e-string on it.the shading on the top showed that it had a very wide bridge so i have made a similar one ,i have also seen a picture of a guitar like this that had an adjustable bridge of equal dimensions.

a rare selmer guitar , originally sold in 1938, in paris france,and with serial number 445. just a little bit more than 12 frets on this fantastic guitar, aprt from one crack in the top it has not been meddled with , finsh worn in plces but in great condition structurally.these selmers with round soundholes, of which a few have surfaced around this serial number, have a sound typically in between a petit bouche and a d/hole. it has the best of both worlds.when played hard it effortlessly shifts into a higher gear.to my ears it really sounds like django´s early recordings. not yet for sale at this moment.

Here it is , one of the holy grails of the guitar world, a superb sounding and playing Selmer guitar , made in 1940.(close to the one that was used by django himself. Solid spruce top and rosewood laminated back and sides. Walnut neck ,all original tailpiece and machineheads,the sound is fantastic, like a sportscar , when you depress the accelerator it goes into a higher gear.this guitar is one of the very few guitars that has djangos name in blockletters on the head.(see page 136 of char;les selmer book) No repairs have been undertaken apart from a recent refret and relaquering of the top ,the back and sides have been varnished (on top of the original) some time ago. Structurally in very strong condition. ON HOLD FOR THE MOMENT.
