at last! i managed to get hold of some del vechio guitars,although the original del vechio factory no longer exists,i have had some of these guitars custom made.basically a classical sized body with a 12 fret neck ,and a number of small screen holes, a national type single cone resonator with a large wooden biscuit -type bridge. this model in amboina wood , has a single coil pick-up fitted.these guitars were known from the playing of chet atkins,who apperently heard it first from los indios tabajaros, sold!!!

a dobro style alhambra guitar. made in ca 1935, with fiddle edge construction (edges are not soldered , but folded over themselves) , made by the regal co.nickel plated brass body gives it a sweet tone, pearlloid headstock with a lion and alhambra in different colours. nice v-shaped neck and excellent action.with hard case,this model is similar to the dobro leader (no 14 style)

in 1977 a blues player walked into the dobro plant and sked for a 12 string single cone resonator...they made it for him on the spot and here it is now , a custom made single cone dobro with engraves roses. funny smallish ff-holes,the body appears nickel and the coverplate chromed.rosewood fingerboard on a maple neck , it has a pickup in it and a volume knob on the front.a one off piece with hard case...

a kay branded resonator guitar from the late 1930's,cthis is actually one of the models which has inner parts made by shireson a competitor of national,they were put out of business by a law suit an,d national used up the parts that they got in settlement in various guitars such as this one.very rare..has some repaired cracks in the body(solid woods) and the resontor has slight dents but it works fine ,and the sound is somewaht in between a dobro and a national.inquire for price.
