zimmerman, j.h. leipzig
price: € 1295
model: parlour       serialnr/date: ca.1910
an usual little parlour guitar labelled j.h.zimmerman , this was a large music house selling in germany and russia among other places.it has the clock key heel so the neck angle can be easily adjusted, made of spruce and nicely flamed maple.plays very well and sounds sweet, after having undegone a thorough overhaul.a few repaired cracks, but the insides were all still solid after nearly a 100 years ,no loose braces e. would serve well also as a 19th century guitar ,although i believe it was made ca.1910.we repalced the machineheads that were in the unusally shaped head with wooden pegs , they work well and the guitar tunes easily.
